The email below that I received from WordPress two days ago, informs that the most viewed posts during the past month of May were about ChatGPT. Regarding this GPT viewer “monopoly”, it should also be borne in mind that the two champion posts from the first 5 months of 2023 are also both related to ChatGPT:

Still, on GPT and AI, it’s worth remembering that the penultimate issue of The Economist, brought on page 67, an article (with some disturbing predictions), which intended to answer the question, What would humans do in a world of super-AI?
Unfortunately, the article has taken an excessively economic approach (which justifies its insertion in the Finance & Economy section) but it is a pity that it was not less economic and more psychological, helping to understand, for example, how an ultra-powerful artificial intelligence can contribute to help combat loneliness in older (and non-elderly) people, whose side effects include an increased risk of heart disease and stroke. Because AI (even without being ultra-powerful) can contribute to substantially reducing countries’ spending on healthcare, as one can read in an article recently published by Forbes. Let´s not forget that in America alone (representing just 4% of the world population) heart disease and stroke kill more people than all forms of cancer combined, almost 1 million people annually, and cost more than $400 billion a year in medical costs and lost productivity !
